Green Bay Resident Charged for 1st Degree Intentional Homicide in Murder of Tavarious Edwards




Green Bay Man Charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide in January 27 Murder 


Green Bay, WI - According to the Green Bay Police Department, after conducting over 25 interviews, watching hours of video, and submitting evidence to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab, a 32 year old Green Bay Resident, Brion Lamar Hatcher, has been charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide in the murder of 29 year old Tavarious Edwards, which occurred on George Street on the city's east side on January 27, 2019.

Brion was taken into custody without incident at an apartment in the 1300 block of Packerland Drive on February 11th and has been held in the Brown County Jail on a Probation Violation while the investigation continued.

The investigation remains active & fluid, with interviews and analysis of evidence which will continue for several weeks. The Green Bay Police Department will not comment on any items, outside of what is included in the criminal complaint, issued by the Brown County District Attorney's Office.




The Probation Violation Hatcher was being held on is related to a 2004 case in Milwaukee County, 04CF6499, in which Hatcher was convicted on 2 counts of Armed Robbery with Threat of Force - Party to a Crime (F). He was sentenced to 5 years State Prison, 3 years Extended Supervision consecutive to a case he was already serving time for in the Wisconsin Prison system.

Hatcher is being charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide - Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Possess Firearm - Convicted of a Felony. He is being held on a $2 million cash bond. Wisconsin Case # 19CF239.
