Brown County Brouhaha - June 2018

Inspired by Rick and Len’s legendary Small Town Crime WaveBrown County Brouhaha recaps some of the month’s more noteworthy calls made through the Brown County dispatch. Sometimes tragic, often times hysterical, Brown County Brouhaha is a harsh reminder of what our public servants deal with on a day-to-day basis. Thanks to all who contributed.

800 block Bader St – Suspicious vehicle/person – male party who seems intoxicated got out of his truck and urinated on it – truck has been parked here for 10 minutes now

4:46 pm – 6/1/18
1100 block University – 911 open line – on call back female stated she was out walking – when asked how long she would be out walking she replied “August”, officers are en route to check her welfare

5700 block Dickinson Rd – Barn fire, smoke & flames, sounds like there are people inside trying to get animals out of the barn – (news story)

Augusta St – Fort Howard Park – WEAPONS CALL – female party stated a male black pulled a gun on her – also stating 20 people jumped her daughter

Preble Ave – Male/female verbal disturbance in complainant’s driveway – complainant does not know who these people are

800 block S Roosevelt – Four suspicious people, possibly teenagers, knocked on complainant’s bedroom window and smashed a window on one of her vehicles – last seen running towards the park

Main St @ N Roosevelt – GBPD apprehend suspect who fled on foot from a traffic stop at Irwin @ Cherry

900 block Lombardi – Convenience store – officers on scene requesting rescue for male party that has a pen stuck in his urethra

12th – Male party in a white Hyundai sedan shooting people w/ a paintball gun – he hit one person in the head and he is injured

East Side GB – Female party on the line stating there’s people in her basement who have “Eyes on her” – she’s not making much sense, talking about gangs and drugs

1400 block S Taylor – Near bonfire – intoxicated female at address is threatening everyone there – additional 911 texts received stated the female is threatening everyone with death – no known weapons

Lawrence Dr – Male customer came in demanding a free car wash and threw a pen at the complainant

1200 block of Day St – Male black & male white stealing mail from mailboxes – complainant’s husband is currently chasing one of the males down Irwin

EB on University from Quincy – Male party stumbling in the street – the male has a long gray beard and is carrying a football

Nicolet @ E Shore Dr – single vehicle accident/ vehicle fire – male driver was pulled from the burning vehicle – was processed for OWI (news story)

400 block Augusta – 911 hang up from landline – on callback female stated she hasn’t touched the phone and is now accusing dispatch of being a scam caller

Harvey @ Clay – Male/female physical disturbance – no weapons, no injuries – female is swinging a baby around in a car seat

600 block E Walnut – Welfare check on an elderly female party that asked the complainant if he was human – female black wearing a bonnet – complainant was very eager to get off the phone – looks like she’s standing in the middle of the street now and tried to take comp’s bike

Birchwood Dr – Truck on fire in the driveway – complainant heard an explosion, no injuries

Suburban Dr – Complainant scammed out of 10k from a dating website

1300 block Bellevue St – Male party not feeling well, thinks female party may have poisoned his cigarettes w/ chloroform – female suspect is on foot walking towards E Mason

1331 Packerland Dr – SW HS - Maintenance was going through a locker and found a gun inside of a backpack

NB on Monroe – Welfare check for male party walking in the middle of the road with no clothes on, is yelling something about having spiders in his mouth
UPDATE: Officers on scene believe male may be on drugs, requesting EMS

2400 block Eastman – Truck playing loud music with people dancing next to it
UPDATE: Truck left, no need for officers

S Jackson – Complainant stating he looked out his window and saw two people getting into his vehicle and starting it – states he left his keys in the vehicle – suspects left w/out the vehicle but took his keys

2200 block True Ln – Female party stating another female started yelling at her when she parked her vehicle next to hers

Seymour Park – Meet 11 year old complainant who states he was beat up and his parents wouldn’t do anything about it

Adams – NB on the Fox River Trail - intoxicated male pushing a bike, keeps falling down and trying to climb a tree

Roland Ln – Disturbance between male & female – caller said something about a gun but never saw it, just heard the female suggest it and the male leaving saying “Please don’t kill me!” – male white, striped shirt, kaki pants

800 block Howard – Vehicle playing loud music in the driveway, also someone dancing on the front porch

100 block S Platten – Two males in the lot trying to break into vehicles – caller yelled at them and told them if they didn’t stop they were gonna get shot, he does not have any weapons on him – suspects were a male Hispanic, white tee shirt & jeans, other male was wearing a red or pink shirt

W Mason – Taco Bell – intoxicated male lying in the bushes w/ a beer can next to him

Bay Park Square – Shopko – Retail theft – male party running out the back of the store w/ merchandise – he then gave the merch to a female w/ a backpack w/ flowers on it – female now at the bus stop – male was wearing a Burger King uniform

Clay @ E Mason – Male walking down street, is bleeding, and has bruises all over face & head – male stated he hears “something cracking” inside his head – male was jumped last night by 8 men
UPDATE:  EMS & PD on scene confirm male was beaten badly

1000 block Coral St – Children playing w/ gasoline & coals outside – 1 ft flames at this time
UPDATE: Kids were reportedly trying to roast marshmallows

Lombardi from 41 – Disturbance in a limo involving up to 20 people – some got out of the vehicle at the Lombardi off ramp
UPDATE: Requesting EMS for male party w/ blood all over his shirt – two subjects hiding at Cabela’s

1627 Dousman – Murphy Park – STRONG ARM ROBBERY – Spanish speaking male was at park to meet female and was jumped, beaten, and robbed – “He’s pretty bloody” – EMS en route

Cormier Rd – Complainant was having a disagreement w/ a girlfriend and when he came home his belongings were in the yard and some things were broken

UPDATE: 9:03 pm – Cancelling all responding units – was just a pile of clothing

Elm St – Male/female verbal disturbance – was a physical disturbance last night where female broke the male’s arm

Sahara Dr – Complainant calls daily because of the group home near him – there’s a party that makes a coughing or vomiting sound and he wants them to start being ticketed for that

Corner of Gray & Mather – Bright green sign that says ‘Newborns to 7/8 Girls Girls Saturday’ – they think it may be related to sex trafficking

Doty St – Physical disturbance – female party was punched in the face by a neighbor – is injured but refusing rescue – was retaliation for a noise complaint

Deer went through the windshield of truck on the on ramp from 172 EB to 43 NB

Unknown location – Complainant found a bracelet on a car door – believes this has something to do w/ a gang initiation

East GB – Disturbance – caller was picking up his kids and states the mom punched him in the face – no weapons mentioned

County Highway PP – Hole # 8 – Female party 60’s drove a golf cart off a 10 ft ledge – she is down in a ravine – conscious & breathing – possible arm & back injuries

In Howard – EMS for female party 20’s w/ a stubbed toe – conscious & breathing

East side GB – Female babysitting two children – male came out of the woods across the street and threw a glass bottle at a 7 year old and threatened him – male said if the child told anyone he would kill him – male white, brown hair, wearing a red or blue shirt & blue jeans – possibly carrying a butter knife and may be intoxicated

Lime Kiln – Ongoing issue w/ neighbor yelling at complainant for talking to loudly

Cherry St ramp area – Male called on 911 swearing at dispatch saying that there were people on top of the ramp taking pictures of him and his friends and if dispatch didn’t get someone over there he was gonna go up there and kill them

1800 block Main St – Female in a gray Chevy Cruze was told to rob the bank by male(s) in a blue Silverado – police were alerted and two males were taken into custody

2000 block E Mason – Check welfare of female party, pink shorts, carrying a bag – looks like she’s “tweaking out”

1400 block Biotech – Dog Park – Both halves of a disturbance calling in – one is saying that a female is screaming every time a dog comes by her dog saying it was attacking – the other is saying her dog was attacked by a pit bull

UPDATE: Semi lost entire container carrying 20,000 lbs of non-toxic material

Fox River Trail – Mile Marker 1 – near Chicago St –  Early this morning around 5:15 am a male lunged at complainant while she was on the trail – she did run away – stated she thought he was intoxicated, he kept falling over – male white, about 40 years old, bald, last seen wearing jeans & tee shirt – would like the area checked

St. George St – Female complainant states her neighbor threatened to kill her cat – last notes state the neighbor had a weapon then line disconnected

1500 block University – Complainant states her son called her at work to let her know that he found his ex-girlfriend in the trunk of his vehicle – somehow she got inside the trunk and into the vehicle and created a disturbance
UPDATE: Male is currently on the line w/ dispatch – he is at work – states the female stole the plates off his vehicle & she poured candy all over his vehicle – unknown where female is at this time

2500 block Eaton Rd – Harassment complaint – ex wife keeps stalking him – ongoing issue

1300 block San Luis Pl – Aggressive loose dog – tan w/ a black nose – looks like a large Chihuahua

East side GB – Female party wished to report theft of an engagement ring – happened two years ago

Ontario – Female following a vehicle w/ a woman that seems distressed on the phone – she is smoking a cigarette w/ a child in the backseat w/ the windows up – would like a welfare check done on her

N Wisconsin – Pulaski – Occurred last night – unknown party super glued all the door locks in the complainant’s home – he had to actually break a window to get inside the home

Velp Ave – Taco Bell – Meet complainant in a black Toyota Camry in the parking lot – he’s upset he didn’t receive his food he paid for

41 NB just S of Scheuring Rd – Vehicle fire – smoke & flames  - male driver fled on foot – multiple calls

2300 block Holmgren Way – Retail theft – female party loaded up a backpack w/ merchandise – they retrieved the merch, also some drugs & needles in the backpack – female suspect fled in a red Grand Am, last seen NB on Holmgren
