Brown County Brouhaha - May 2018




Inspired by Rick and Len’s legendary Small Town Crime Wave, Brown County Brouhaha recaps some of the month’s more noteworthy calls made through the Brown County dispatch. Sometimes tragic, often times hysterical, Brown County Brouhaha is a harsh reminder of what our public servants deal with on a day-to-day basis. Thanks to all who contributed.

1000 block Lime Kiln – Complainant states (someone in) a dark blue van w/ tinted windows just tried to abduct his daughter – last seen WB on Lime Kiln from Mason



12:12 pm – 5/2/18
1800 block Western Ave – Male party attempting to break into building w/ a knife



12:32 pm – 5/2/18
East Side GB – Two males broke into complainant’s house, threatened him w/ a knife, and stole his Super Nintendo because he owed them money

2300 block W Mason – Female party wishes to meet w/ officers to discuss an incident last night where a male was following her around the store, he appeared to be masturbating while doing so



8:30 pm – 5/2/18
1200 block N Buchanan St – Propane tank fell on male party, possible broken leg – the 500 lb propane tank is also leaking
UPDATE: Blocking off parts of Velp as crews work to contain leak





7 am – 5/3/18
2100 block County PP – Complainant thinks neighbor took a package from their porch – neighbor is not happy about the accusation

Moraine Way – Complainant stating upstairs neighbors are stomping on the floor just to annoy them

Allied @ Waube – Caller stated he found some drug paraphernalia and wants to turn it in, he then started talking about how all the street names have changed, and now is not making any sense

Military @ Shawano – Male party calling saying he wants to cut his arm off – he does have a knife
UPDATE: Male threw the knife
1:28 pm – male party in custody

Lineville @ Bayshore Dr – Report of kids throwing construction barrels into the bay

Capitol Dr – Female party lying on top of a vehicle and smoking something

1100 block Vanderbraak – Male complainant who sounds intoxicated stated a group of males won’t let him in his parking space

Area of Elmore & N Ashland – Complainant states they saw a male stumbling to his vehicle after urinating on a house – male party then drove off – last seen SB on Ashland

100 block Cleveland St – STRUCTURE FIRE

Fort Howard Park – Group of juveniles tipped over a porta potty – they have since left the park

1000 block Harwood Ave – WEAPONS CALL – verbal disturbance between neighbors – one neighbor is shaking a large, hunting style knife at the other neighbor

1800 block Main St – Male black wearing dark blue ‘puffy coat’, black jeans & baseball hat, stole a bottle of booze and took off running towards Planet Fitness
UPDATE: Male party ditched the puffy coat on Main St



7:26 pm – 5/5/18
Radisson – McDonald’s – Approx 30 teens fighting in the parking lot
UPDATE: Kids ran through the park, PD out w/ some 1100 block of Klaus

Webster @ Smith – Possible WEAPONS CALL – Complainant states they heard gunshots and saw someone pointing a handgun out of a gray/silver vehicle – last seen SB on Webster



8:14 pm – 5/5/18
1300 block 10th Ave – Complainant’s neighbor’s dog attacked him – both are now in their respective homes – disturbance started over a car alarm going off

Western Ave – Complainant states a male black was going through their backyard bouncing a basketball

1700 block Loretta Ln – Possible WEAPONS CALL – several males fighting in the front yard – two male blacks and two male whites – one had a taser and used it

1500 block Velp Ave – Kids throwing landscaping rocks and breaking windows


11:55 am – 5/7/18
N Maple @ Elmore – WEAPONS CALL – shots fired after a disturbance in the area of 800 block Elmore – spent shell casings found in the 500 block – no injuries




5:36 pm – 5/7/18
600 block Hillcrest Heights – One male and two female juveniles swearing and playing rap music – when complainant asked them to stop, they “became rude”

 9:42 pm – 5/7/18
Capitol Dr – Complainant called in on 911 to report basement flooding – became upset w/ dispatch when told he would need to call a plumber

1600 block Windsor – Welfare check on female screaming “Why?” over & over again – no mention of weapons – unknown if anyone else is in the apartment

2400 block Hillside Ln – Male party pulled up next to complainant in a maroon vehicle and was masturbating – male white 30’s or 40’s, sweatshirt w/ hoodie, no pants – last seen on Delwiche

1979 Lime Kiln – Walgreens – complainant’s ex husband’s girlfriend has a restraining order against complainant – is currently being followed by a green Oldsmobile w/ the ex husband and girlfriend

2700 block Manitowoc Rd – Semi hit a sign and then the sign smashed another vehicle’s window

100 N Military – Perkins – dine & dash – parties left in red sedan

2500 block Packerland Dr – Bar fight – approx 8 people physical – someone did have a pool stick and is swinging it around – male white wearing a Harley shirt – he did put the pool stick down but they’re still physical at this time and refusing to leave
UPDATE: Rescue needed for male party 50’s bleeding from the face

Webster @ Doty – Two males throwing rocks at each other

S Locust – Dumpster fire

Tilleman (Mason) bridge – Female black wearing a white shower cap on her head is staring over the edge of the bridge

Smith St – EMS for female party in the driveway who may have hit a nerve w/ her meth needle

1400 block Seville Dr – Out of control male wearing ONLY a blue shirt smashed a window

1900 block Scheuring Rd – Large snapping turtle snapping at people

Area of Deprey & Debra Anne Dr in the town of Scott – Suspicious vehicle – complainant stated a Dish Network van drove to the end of the cul-de-sac and into the woods w/ the back doors open – caller would like this checked on

Imperial Ln – Ongoing issue w/ two 3rd graders ding dong ditching and taking people’s mail and throwing it – they stated they have older siblings who are in a gang and will beat up complainant – juveniles are currently down the road

Bader St – Complainant called in on 911 stating two people broke into his apartment and are refusing to leave – they’re currently pretending to be asleep or intoxicated in his bed

Dousman St – Fisk Park – 8 year old female stuck in swing set
UPDATE: Rescued by GBMFD - no injuries

500 block S Fisk – Approx 5 males fighting and throwing bricks

900 block Duchateau Ave – structure fire – house is unoccupied

E St Joseph St – Male party stuck in restroom – be advised he’s very agitated





9:31 pm – 5/16/18
Day St – Verbal disturbance – male party possibly threw female’s keys on the roof – two females are outside w/ flashlights searching for the keys right now – complainant no longer on scene

800 block Elmore – Possible gunshots heard – GBPD talking w/ potential witnesses, suspects – nothing confirmed as of yet – no reports of injuries
UPDATE: Male party taken into custody – one vehicle towed – another vehicle possibly related to incident stopped & searched on Porlier

1600 block Badger St – Complainant on Reserve St heard a loud crash – hit & run accident happened on Badger St
UPDATE: 12:45 am – Appears male hit construction equipment and possibly a generator
12:45 am – Officer in area found suspect vehicle in the 100 block of Reserve

1300 block Scheuring Rd – WEAPONS CALL – female stating ex boyfriend was kicking her and holding a knife up to her throat threatening to kill her – suspect may have left in a Nissan Altima

43 SB to 54/57 University split – Vehicle vs. turkey – windshield is smashed – no injuries

Badger St – Elderly female party hit multiple vehicles and utility pole

1200 block Main St – Female party possibly prostituting in the parking lot – female white, white straggly hair, white sweatshirt, and dark colored pants – called in earlier but she was GOA (gone on arrival)

1000 block Shadow Ln – Male party holding a sign w/ swear words on it – when confronted about it he acted like he had a gun in his pocket and said “I’ll drop you like a rental car”

Cormier/Oneida – Male party in a wheelchair in traffic – almost getting hit by several cars – multiple calls

500 block Rothe – Car vs. boulder

Cedar @ Clay – Vehicle vs. pole & fence – driver took off running

Madison near Elm St – Female driving white van went through WPS parking lot and crashed, possibly partially into the East River – driver fled on foot and was found near a dumpster in the parking lot on Main @ Monroe – female was taken into custody

2400 block Velp Ave – WEAPONS CALL – male party cut with a knife – male suspect left scene, unknown if in a vehicle or on foot

700 block N Locust – vehicle vs. parked vehicle in driveway

500 block Ruth – Complainant found a 1-year-old baby in the street

1200 block Doty St – Damage complaint – light pole smashed and mailbox broken – suspects are group of kids living in the neighborhood

520 Dousman St – Fort Howard School – Garbage can on fire in the middle of the playground

Biemeret St – Male party mowing his lawn before 7 am – ongoing issue

2800 block Viking Dr – Complainant asking how he can kick his girlfriend out – stated she’s not on the lease

Irwin @ University – Anonymous caller stating a female Hispanic yelled at him – wants the area checked – concerned she’s yelling at everyone driving through

2200 block University – Male on motorcycle cut off another vehicle and then punched the window of the vehicle – he’s under the canopy at Royal Cleaners wearing a face mask, black leather vest, red shirt & black pants

1300 block Hobart Dr – Vehicle accident w/ possible injuries – airbags deployed

1712 E Mason St – Kwik Trip – Complainant stating there’s a male party in line that “Appears to be on something” – he’s “dancing and bouncing off of things”

651 S St Augustine – Memorial Park – Pulaski – Report of 10-12 kids playing beer pong in the park
UPDATE: Officer: “We already checked on them, it’s not beer pong, they have soda in the cups.”

2600 block Trojan Dr – Six teenagers behind the building smoking in the woods

500 block N 10th St – Female party is upset over the noise from construction in the area – male voice in the background told her she was not allowed in construction area – female hung up

43 SB near Glenmore Rd – Vehicle fire

Irwin @ Chicago St – Stolen vehicle located by officers – 3 occupants inside ditched the vehicle, fled on foot – vehicle is rolling down the street – all 3 suspects wearing blue shorts, black sweatshirts

Lakeside Pl – Male party shooting a shotgun at a groundhog

200 block Hazel – 20 people physical disturbance in the street

Coral St – Two men are playing catch with a football in the parking lot – there is also a 4 year old child out with them

Webster @ Arrowhead Dr – Check welfare of female party hugging a tree – female white, checkered pants & mismatched shoes

1200 block Redwood Dr – Female in the backyard “appears to be high” – she had a duffle bag and threw all the items up on the roof

330 S Oakland – Seymour Park – Male & female using drugs and yelling at people – they’re by the swings – male white wearing a red & white top & jeans – female white wearing a blue tank top & shorts
UPDATE: They’re now by the benches - complainant stated they have knives in their pocket then disconnected

Webster outside Kastle Cart – Male/male physical disturbance – male suspect left on foot down Irwin – no shirt & backpack
UPDATE: Male suspect found & questioned

2400 block W Mason – Retail theft – female black wearing a pink shirt w/ pink in her hair just fled from LP officers – last seen headed towards the frontage rd

N Clay – 13 year old driving a silver station wagon – hit the curb and both tires are blown

Ramp from Lombardi to 41 NB – Someone lying in the grass covered w/ a blanket wearing all dark clothing

1700 block Edison – Male/female verbal disturbance – male party is jumping on top the vehicle – female party just exited car and is walking towards August St
UPDATE: Male just took off his belt and is walking towards the apartments – male white, long hair in a ponytail, shirtless & jeans – female white, navy blue top & pigtails

3:40 pm – 5/27/18
Roosevelt Square – Police and EMS sent for male & female passed out in a silver Saturn w/ two small children in the backseat – complainant states they saw the male being physical w/ the female earlier







4 pm – 5/27/18
Webster @ Radisson – Hit & run – complainant stating run vehicle is a black pickup truck occupied by two Hispanic males who are possibly intoxicated – vehicle pulled over at Chicago @ Monroe
UPDATE: Driver taken into custody 



4:42 pm – 5/27/18
Claude Allouez Bridge – WATER RESCUE – jet boat getting sucked into the dam – 8 people on board are getting life jackets on – there are 5 children on board
UPDATE: 4:56 pm – Boat is undertow, everything looks fine and all occupants are off

3500 block Sand Acres Dr – Male on meth just smashed car windows, complainant may be injured but is refusing rescue

1100 block Reed St – 8 males w/ guns & knives

2600 block Dollar Rd – 50 people physical disturbance – EMS requested for female party sprayed in the face w/ unknown substance

Fort Howard Ave – near Brown Co. Fairgrounds – Two barges caught fire during fireworks display – no reported injuries

Chicago @ Grant – Pulaski – Male party staggering in the road with no pants on
UPDATE: male is now headed towards Behrendt Park - Officer: “Male does appear to be pant less. He’s running away from me down the alleyway.  Appears highly intoxicated.”

Between Crooks & Stuart – Two people lying in the grass drinking and yelling at people going by

1200 block Bond St – Male subject went to drop off some items and a male party pulled a knife and took his phone

1000 block N Broadway – Snapping turtle in traffic – traffic is backing up – male party is trying to move it

1500 block S Webster – Male & female verbally arguing, not paying attention, hit multiple headstones in the cemetery – last seen NB on Webster

1300 block Division – Female caller stating she woke up and someone was standing over her bed – suspect left the scene and ran out of the house – last seen EB on Division

Western Ave – Check welfare of male party who climbed a tree and is yelling at vehicles

University Ave – Welfare check for complainant’s wife – she was recently released from BCCTC, has been walking in circles, doesn’t seem very happy right now – she also has an open warrant for misuse of 911 – does not know police have been called
