Brown County Brouhaha - September 2018



Inspired by Rick and Len’s legendary Small Town Crime WaveBrown County Brouhaha recaps some of the month’s more noteworthy calls made through the Brown County dispatch. Sometimes tragic, often times hysterical, Brown County Brouhaha is a harsh reminder of what our public servants deal with on a day-to-day basis. Thanks to all who contributed.

1000 block Moraine Way – Party locked inside their apartment unable to get out

6:06 pm – 9/1/18
100 block S Monroe – Approx 6 year old child sleeping in a stroller on the basketball court w/ no adults around

Heather Rd – Male/female verbal disturbance – complainant almost got ran over by a lawnmower

S Fisk – Female party pounding on complainant’s door – comp admits he gave the female a ride to Wal-Mart and left her there

Brown County – Patient missing since 10:30 pm – believe she may have gotten outside – female white, right leg is amputated, last seen wearing a bandanna – unknown clothing description

  • UPDATE: 12:13 am – Officer located her, she is okay, will have her checked out by EMS

500 block W Walnut – Check welfare of male party who “Seems a bit off”, he did not have money to pay for his items, wet himself, and wandered around the parking lot for 20 minutes – last seen walking towards Broadway

43 NB N of Atkinson – Bird hit complainant’s windshield & shattered it – female has facial lacerations – rescue en route

Lombardi @ Marlee – Female party ran out of gas, a male party stopped to help her and then started yelling at her

S Adams – PD Lobby – Officers requesting rescue for male party who may have swallowed meth

Lyndon St – Complainant states a male has a dog on a leash and is throwing the dog in the air and letting him smash into the ground repeatedly – dog is howling in pain

Brown County – Complainant sent $350 to someone through Apple Pay for football tickets, they did not receive the tickets and is now blocked by the seller

Packerland Dr – Complainant’s ex husband is making threats against her current boyfriend – states he’s gonna show up and kill him – he’s usually on a pedal bike, if he did have a vehicle it would be a gray Ford Explorer

800 block S Broadway – Harassing phone calls – 17 of them since 7:30 pm

County RK – Howard Park & Ride – Male and female “having relations” inside vehicle, complainant can also smell marijuana

300 block Van Buren – Possible BURGLARY IN PROGRESS – complainant saw a male wearing a black hood and all dark clothing walk around the house before entering through basement window
UPDATE: Was a boyfriend sneaking into the residence

Eldorado Dr – Male party approached female and asked for her phone number – male left EB on Eldorado in a red Honda

Hastings – Complainant states they received a safe ride home from an east side drinking establishment and the driver was smoking marijuana

Louise St – At the dead end – stolen vehicle recovered, male party w/ backpack fled on foot

Janice Ave – LOUD drumming complaint

409 S Webster – Regency Apartments – tenant ripped the sink off the wall and now the apartment complex is flooding

1200 block Stuart St – Damage complaint – someone put a hose in complainant’s window and now their house is full of water

Brown County – Complainant received a text from his wife this morning saying that she was leaving for Texas for a week on a cruise with a girl she met from work and is turning off her phone. Seems unusual to him. All of her belongings are here at home and her vehicle is here. She works at home for ___. See if they can verify if she planned on taking a vacation. Spoke with mother who knows nothing about it. Said he’ll meet with officers in the backyard. Prior disturbance from min July, was a male/female physical. Wife stated he had a gun but did not have it on him

Shopko – 3 to 4 teen males riding on top of a white minivan while it’s driving

Farlin Ave – Farlin Park – Report of a male party setting fire to the netting at the tennis court

N Taylor – Complainant states two males on scooters just drove through their yard

1265 Lombardi Ave – Lambeau Field – Miller Lite Gate – Security out w/ a possible drunk driver who hit a handicap sign

Velp Ave – Taxi Cab Company calling stating a male party got sick in the cab and is refusing to pay the cleaning fee

Bower Creek Rd – EMS for female party bleeding from a mosquito bite

1265 Lombardi Ave – Lambeau Field – SE corner of the lot for intoxicated female who dropped a baby on the ground – baby is conscious, crying

W Mason @ 15th – Female stabbed in the neck while driving – suspect fled on foot – female is conscious & breathing – EMS/PD en route

1200 block S Broadway – Report of gunshots in the area, no reported injuries

Glendale Ave – Marco’s Pizza – Reported ROBBERY
NOTE: Female party attempted to rob the business using a ‘finger gun’, was held down with a wrestling move until PD arrived (news story)

1000 block Day St – Wrightstown – loose horse running down the highway – complainant stopped at a nearby farm but it’s not their horse
UPDATE: 12:20 am - Officer: “I have one horse detained for now.”

W Mason – McDonald’s – Officers requesting rescue for male party who has been “huffing” some type of cleaning supply

100 block Perkins Ave – Female party continues to smoke in the hallway and is always tearing down the ‘No Smoking’ sign

2292 Main St – Walmart – Navy blue Equinox – Male party huffing from an air duster – is currently slumped over – somewhat responsive – EMS & PD en route

800 block Elmore – Report of a male yelling “White power!” at another male – multiple calls on this, caller stating situation is “getting heated” and escalating quickly – no mention of weapons

N7300 block Red River TL Rd – Luxemburg requesting assistance from New Franken first responders for fully engulfed barn fire

Division St – Complainant states they heard what sounded like gunshots - multiple calls

  • UPDATE: Looks like casings found in the 800 block of Elmore – no reported injuries

Lawrence @ Grant – Female got out of her vehicle to purchase some corn - a female party then jumped in her vehicle and drove away

  • UPDATE: Police terminated chase for public safety

Superior – vehicle accident w/ possible injuries

Howard @ 13th – Shirtless male hitting a vehicle with a bottle

Marlee Ln – Gray car in the driveway, appears someone is smoking something through a glass tube

Spinnaker – Needed for some counseling – complainant’s girlfriend is making threats to damage his window and he wants it explained to her that that’s not ok

Webster @ Cherry – Two vehicle accident w/ injuries

Howard @ Broadway – Somebody’s truck was vandalized and suspect is still on scene – victim is trying to hold suspect down

University – Pit Row Shell – Unknown situation – police, fire, and rescue on scene

  • UPDATE: Confirmed robbery

700 block W Walnut – by the Blackstone – Two vehicles were ramming each other – tan SUV & a white car

12:21 pm – 9/24/18
Lombardi Ave – Titletown District – Female party ran up a curb into the grass, got a flat tire – police had to wake her up in the car – she failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody

200 block S Washington – Two parking meters were removed

14th Ave – Report of a male party possibly bit by a black widow and is now having a seizure – EMS en route

S Webster – CVS – Deer ran into a window, male party is chasing the injured deer

  • UPDATE: Deer is deceased







5:42 pm – 9/24/18
Grant @ Lawrence – Caller states a vehicle pulled over, driver pulled the passenger out and threw her in the ditch – that person is stumbling all over the road – vehicle was a red Highlander – vehicle has now returned and the passenger is back inside the vehicle


Midnight – 9/25/18
1000 block Dousman – Possible burglary in progress – 3 males wearing all black in hoodies seen in the driveway of a vacant house – they took off running NB when they saw responding officers

  • UPDATE: 12:08 am – Officers have one possible suspect detained, has hoodie tied around his waist, switchblade in his pocket 

10:13 am - 9/25/18
Doty St – WEAPONS CALL – Officer was flagged down by a frantic woman who stated her son was just stabbed in the area of Walnut @ Webster

  • UPDATE: EMS for male 20’s w/ minor cut to his hand, possible domestic situation – officers are out w/ the suspect, she’s being cooperative
11:17 am – 1200 block E Walnut – returning WEAPONS CALL – Complainant states as soon as officers left the neighbors returned w/ a knife and possibly a gun




1:32 pm – 9/25/18
900 block Vanderperren – Male party cut in line, when asked to move he mentioned something about “wanting to shoot up the place” – subject is a male black and is with a female party wearing a blue shower cap

3:30 pm – 9/25/18
East side GB – Complainant received a letter wrapped in tape w/ a balloon attached that made reference to Slender Man

Cormier – Vehicle search

East side GB – Complainant and neighbor share a driveway and every time comp has guests over the neighbor leaves notes on their vehicles that say they are trespassing

1300 block Hobart Dr – Deer is impaled on a fence and still alive

143 S Military – Pancake Place – Dine ‘n’ Dash – male party left in a maroon Chevy Blazer w/ out of state plates – was acting strange – male white, baseball cap, last seen SB on Military

Elm St - Juveniles swearing and saying inappropriate things to complainant

172 @ Babcock - Two vehicle accident w/ injuries & entrapment - male party, 80 years old arrested for OWI - female party, 26, in critical condition (news story)

Park Pl - Kelly Services - An aggressive turkey pecking at the back windows

By the 172 split for an ice shanty in traffic - multiple calls

Caller on 911 stating there's a mean dog growling at them from the front porch
