Brown County Brouhaha



Inspired by Rick and Len’s legendary Small Town Crime Wave, Brown County Brouhaha recaps some of the month’s more noteworthy calls made through the Brown County dispatch. Sometimes tragic, often times hysterical, Brown County Brouhaha is a harsh reminder of what our public servants deal with on a day-to-day basis.

10/1/17 - 11:15 AM
2800 block S. Broadway - Female complainant dialed 911 stating she's locked out of her bedroom and wants to move out.


10/1/17 - 1:45 pm 
Main @ Mason - Kids in a VW were reportedly flashing a gun out of their car window - last seen turning onto Guns St.

700 block Karcz Dr - Pulaski - Male entered store, did some "inappropriate things" and left in a white vehicle.

2300 block E. Mason - East Town Mall - Halloween Store - Employees closing up for the night heard noises inside the store (something like closing doors and people talking) - they have locked themselves in an office.
UPDATE 7:56 pm - Employees in locked office state they can hear two voices outside the door, does not believe it's officers - think it's the same voices they heard earlier.
Officer: "Well, we are inside the store now, there are two of us. You can tell them to come out."

W. Mason St - Apartment building - Complainant states she sees a sheet hanging from a window in an apartment that says "HELP" on it.
UPDATE - Was a Halloween decoration - has now been taken down.

800 block Howard St - Complainant states there are 2 small children on top of a roof, one still in diapers.

Female complainant states she has a tan Husky following her.

Dispatch: "Smell of marijuana"
Officer: "Yep, that's the same apartment they call on every day and it's always unfounded."

4000 block Pine Ln - Complainant can hear noises coming from beneath their porch - unsure if animal or person

400 block Monroe - Suspected prostitution - complainant states female walked up to a vehicle and exchanged money with a man for a "sexual favor".

Redwood Circle - Complainant states female came into store and advised staff that she was "authorized" to receive free food - manager would like to speak with officers.

S. Broadway - Multiple 911 calls - child on the line asked dispatch, "Are you McDonald's?"

2600 block Monroe Rd - Two employees reportedly smoking marijuana - complainant called boss to report them - the 2 males then allegedly said they "shouldn't have ratted" and threatened to shoot complainant. No weapons at this time.

2100 block School Rd - Complainant states male came to door looking for directions - asked for address to send a tow truck to pick up their vehicle - now the complainant's TV is missing.

700 block Pine St - Intoxicated female sitting on roof of complainant's car because "she thinks it's hers".

Main @ Roosevelt - 5 juveniles "darting" - running in & out of traffic - the 'leader' of the group is wearing a red sweatshirt.
Officer: "I'll be out with the leader."

1100 block Harvey St - Caller states female subject just maced three individuals and left - all three are refusing rescue - suspect left in white 4 door car w/three other females and baby in the vehicle.

W. Deerfield @ Harbor Lights - Vehicle vs. Turkey - requesting rescue for glass in driver's eyes

1000 block St. Paul - Caller stating her ex-husband threw a soda can at her and left in unknown direction of travel in a white Taurus - possibly with his girlfriend.

School Pl - Complainant believes someone's in her house - she heard someone downstairs and came down to find the cabinets open - she's in the kitchen at this time and doesn't hear anything.

***ALERT*** Hispanic male wearing a police uniform/costume pulled over and handcuffed a female and searched her vehicle by KFC on Shawano Ave

3200 block Riverside Dr - Male is taking off his clothes at an office building - complainant states the man is trying to trade clothes for food.

400 block N. Monroe - Female refusing to leave - she has a hunting knife in her jacket and is carrying a hammer - has not threatened anyone.

E Walnut - Noise complaint for loud music - the complainant asked her to turn it down and she swore and slammed the door in her face.

Greenbrier Rd - Spanish speaking only male is threatening staff - he was using scissors earlier - staff now have the scissors - he is asking to leave against medical advice - he came in with a gun a couple of days ago, but security has it now.

5800 block North Shore Acres - Complainant states they believe a raccoon in the area is sick as it is "not acting normal".

200 block Bader St - Someone dressed as a clown in a car is chasing complainant down the street - complainant is also in a vehicle - stated male passenger tried to grab her - last seen northbound on Bader.

School Pl - Complainant called 911 to report an incident that happened 2-3 weeks ago - someone was rummaging through his vehicle - nothing was taken.

Dousman St - A mentally challenged male called 911 stating he wanted his girlfriend to go to jail because "she doesn't like him anymore".

Dispatch: "We have no idea, it's West High."
Officer: "Don't think the middle or high schools have school today."
Dispatch: "I'll get a hold of the caller and let them know there's no school today."

1700 block E. Mason - Welfare check & possible disturbance - female inside the store with a 5 year old saying she has no food and no clothing - possible disturbance happened @ 1000 block W. Mason - male party at this address reportedly "destroyed the house" and "only left me a cigar to smoke".
Update - female left store in unknown direction.

400 block Globe Ave - Male is outside a woman's vehicle holding a knife to her and not letting her leave.
Update 2:46 pm - Police have the man at gunpoint.

1600 block 9th St - Complainant would like an officer to speak with a nearby neighbor about the way he treats his cat.

1300 block Day St - In the alley there's a group of kids building a fort with old fence and...lighting it on fire.
